| A fabulous period of my life was when I worked at the Augsburg Community Theatre in 1989 and 1990. I was the "director's assistant," which meant I pretty much did a little of everything. I lived at the theatre and loved every minute of it! I loved the people that I performed with, loved being on stage, loved learning everything about it that I could. I was pretty young, so I didn't get many lead roles, but I didn't care. I just wanted to be around other performers and be on stage as much as possible. It was a great learning experience for me, and I've never forgotten the many people I worked with. This webpage is an effort to both share some memories and to get in touch with others who worked at ACT, circa the James Bentham years. James was our incredibly talented British director, and he brought the theatre out of the doldrums. And the community noticed! We performed to full houses night after night and even took some awards in the Tournament of Plays. In fact, I was in Heidelberg, Germany at the TOP ceremony the night the Berlin Wall came down. I am going to start scanning photos and programs from the year that I was at ACT to share with old friends. If you happen across this page and recognize faces and names, I'd love to hear from you! My ultimate goal is to get us all back together. Which may not be easy. Military folk are, by their very nature, a transient group. Still, I hope to hear from at least one or two old friends. As people get in touch with me, I'll share their contact info, if they allow it. And who knows, maybe someday we can all get back together for another performance. Or at least a night of Italian food and karaoke! Hope to hear from someone soon! Kierstin Blanchard Bible ACT Member 1989-1990 |
