Mrs. Bible's Performance Photos!
I've been in many performances in the past 20 years,
and here are just a few pictures from some of them...
La Cenerentola (1996)
This was the first year of my Master's Program at UA.  It is the Italian version of Cinderella - very funny and we set it in the twenties!  I'm the one in the hot pink robe (right) and the hideous blue dress (below)- yup, I was a wicked stepsister!
A Victorian Christmas
In Eureka Springs (1995)
This was a Christmas special in Eureka Springs, put on by several alumni of Opera in the Ozarks. Oddly enough, this was maybe the only time I ever wore a wig!  Here I am with the incredible vocal coach, Lucy Cain-Hargis, who is based in Houston, Texas.
Don Giovanni (1996)
just another peasant girl!
In the summer of 1996, I returned to Eureka Springs for a second season at Opera in the Ozarks.  I played Prinz Orlofsky (see below) in Die Fledermaus and sang in the chorus for La Boheme and Don Giovanni.  It was a memorable summer for sure!
Die Fledermaus (1996)
one of many "pants roles"!
There is a strange convention in opera, which calls for mezzo sopranos (women like me) to sing the role of young men and boys.  These are called "pants roles."  It was very likely a way for audience members to see women in pants!  Remember, that women wearing pants is a very recent thing! I personally think this is better than men playing women, which was a convention for many years!  In Die Fledermaus (The Bat), I played the eccentric "Prinz Orlofsky," complete with Rudolph Valentino makeup and a white polyester tux! This was also set in the twenties and was great fun!
